How far we go from Hagerstown

Andrews Chimney Service is based in Hagerstown, MD, and works in two counties: Washington County, MD and Jefferson County, WV.

Williamsport is about 7 miles from Hagerstown, and Smithsburg and Boonsboro are each about 10. Jefferson County is a longer run: Shepherdstown is about 17 miles from Hagerstown, Harpers Ferry about 24, and Charles Town and Ranson about 26. Distances are estimates, and we give you the drive time when you call. Call (240) 388-2417 and tell us where you are.

If your town is not on the list below but it is in Washington County, MD or Jefferson County, WV, call anyway. The list shows the places we are asked about most, not the edge of the map.

When you call, tell us your town, what you are seeing (smoke, a leak, a smell, a clogged dryer) and whether you burn wood. That is enough for us to tell you which service fits and how far we have to drive.

Pages for the places we are asked about most

Four towns, four sets of houses

The work is the same in every town, but the houses are not. Each page below explains what homes in that place tend to need, how far it is from Hagerstown, and who else we cover nearby.

Smithsburg, MD. The small town at the foot of South Mountain, with older homes on Main Street and Water Street and many newer houses in the developments around it. We also cover Cavetown and Leitersburg.

Boonsboro, MD. Stone and brick houses on the old National Road, plus Keedysville, Sharpsburg and Rohrersville. Older masonry is the story here.

Williamsport, MD. On the Potomac and the C&O Canal. Chimneys and dryer vents both, and the west end of the county out toward Clear Spring and Hancock.

Jefferson County, WV. Shepherdstown, Charles Town, Ranson and Harpers Ferry, with a lot of wood heat in the county’s rural homes.

In Hagerstown, start with our chimney sweep and masonry repair pages.

What we do

Every service, wherever you are

All seven services are available across the area, and each page explains the job in detail: what the signs are, what the visit includes and what drives the cost. Chimney sweep and inspection are the usual starting point. Repair, relining and rebuild follow when the inspection finds something.

Not sure which one you need? Call or send us a message and describe what you are seeing.

They were on time, and did a very thorough inspection of our chimney interior and exterior. They took pictures of areas of concern and explained well what what needed to be done or could be left as is. He didn't try to upsell me on anything unnecessary. He also advised us on how to care for everything moving forward and suggested what a plumber might want to to do the next time he is in, thus saving us having a plumbing inspection for certain items. They kept everything on the house very clean. They are not the first chimney service we've used in town but will be the only service we will use moving forward. They did excellent work and we're honest.

Two wonderful men from Andrews Chimney Service came to my house Friday and again today to work on my chimney. They were very professional, and very thorough. They were very polite and knew exactly what they were doing. I thought I would have a mess afterwards but I didn’t at all. I was impressed. I would recommend them to anyone that needs their service. Again, thank you Andrews.

You do yourself a disservice if you don’t consider Andrews Chimney to clean, fix or upgrade your chimney. It is sometimes hard to see the finished product, because after all, it is a chimney, however, if you look closely, you can tell the work is quality as well as the materials used. We had our chimney upgraded to meet current code two years ago. The cost was more than fair.

Professional, left no mess behind, and he pointed out some things that may need to be replaced in a couple years. Time to start a fire with some peace of mind.
